Infestations of Demodex are readily diagnosed by Dr. Muller using her microscope to examine your eyes, eyelids and eyelashes. Once Dr. Muller identifies the characteristic debris from the mites, she gently removes an eyelash with mites on it, places it on a slide, and views it under high magnification on another microscope. The live mites are clearly seen in this way.
